Roeder Farms Mission:  Keeping the tradition set into motion inspired by their forefathers, to operate the family farm with integrity, honesty, and execute our sincere concern for those with whom we conduct business.  Educate and pass on our love for the land, family, cattle and God, which are vital to the continued success and future of family farming.

Roeder Family Farms owes their existence to the "roots" of each generation that has preceded the present.   One generation's sweat, passion and foresight has paved the path for the following generation to open up opportunity and success.   Immigrant Christopher Roeder bought the first 160 acres back in 1868  in Rock Dell Township.  His legacy are, Christopher Jr., William, Charles, Frank, Louise, Henry and Lois.

In 1891, Charles and William Roeder, sons of Christopher Roeder, probably had no idea that when they set out to buy 240 acres of farmland in High Forest Township of Olmsted County in SE Minnesota, that they would be setting the Roeder family standards of tradition.    Charles side of the family later purchased the farm that was originally purchased by Will, due to some earlier hardships he had to sell, this is the portion of the farm on which Robert and Rita live today.   Charles Roeder's original acreage today is the portion of the farm on which Robert's sons, Mike and Robby, live on with their families.

Charles Roeder married Mary Peters in 1892 they were blessed with 6 children;  Arthur, Irene, Carl, Gladys, Helen and Paul.  Charles Roeder sold the farm to his son Carl in 1924.    Carl married Genevieve Fallon in 1923, pictured here on their wedding day on the right.  Carl and Genevieve Roeder with Angela and Lloyd FallonThey had five children, Gerald, Charles A., Mary Ann, Robert, and John.    Carl Roeder sold the first farm to his son Robert in 1964, and then Robert purchased the second farm in 1975.

Robert and Rita Roeder Married 1956 Robert met Rita Tobin, they married in 1956.   With two living sons, Michael and Robert, Jr. (Robby) and one daughter Cheryl, they all grew up on the home farm helping their father and grandfather raise crops, cattle, hogs, horses and other livestock.

Michael and Kathy Roeder are proud parents to;  Eric, Jon, Amy and Ben.    Robby has two sons, Cole & Cody.   Cheryl adds Angie, Katrina and Matthew, all young-adults adding to the continued generations of Roeders.

Through the past years many of the Roeders have gone on to pursue educations, whether it be agricultural related or out in the world of business.  Some return to initiate new techniques in crop and livestock production back at Roeder Farms.  Always striving to improve efficiency in the field, or in breeding production for top performance of registered Angus and Polled Hereford genetics, along with tried and true tradition, Roeder Farms are willing to readily incorporate new ideas and technology in the business.  Once again keeping with family tradition of being pioneers and innovators of their time.   As "Charles Roeder"  was one of the first to have a threshing machine and one of the first tractors, although he had to work other jobs at times to hold onto his acreage he endured the hardships, as the Roeders have learned and are still doing today.

Roeders are active team players with the unique ability to put personal interests aside for the betterment of the group or association they are serving.   Roeder Farms have a long history as respected community membership supporters in governing roles of the local Farm Bureau, Olmsted County Planning and Zoning Commission and selling brand farm seed for many years.   Charles Roeder, was a founder of the Tri-County Shipping Association in Racine, was on the board of directors for the South Central Livestock Association.   Roeders are still very much active as role models for FFA, MN 4-H, Olmsted County Boards, MN Angus and Hereford Associations at local, state and national levels just to name a few.    Carl Roeder was the founder and first 4-H leader of the High Forest Chippewa Champions. still active today with over 45 family members!

Roeder Farms is host to, for the 33rd consecutive year, the Local SE MN Annual FFA student field judging contest held in September.    This fun filled day consists of over 30 area FFA chapters (500 students) invited to the farm.  It's purpose, to help educate and expose students who participate in cattle judging and farming issues as a business.

MN State Fair trips abound.   Roeder farms have not missed qualifying since they first began showing cattle in the 60's.   Pictured below is  Robby with his Champion Market Hereford Heifer.
